The Game

An Introduction to Bocce
Bocce is a ball sport belonging to the boules sport family, closely related to bowls and pétanque with a common ancestry from ancient games played in the Roman Empire. Developed into its present form in Italy, (where it is called Bocce, the plural of the Italian word boccia which means “bowl”), it is now played worldwide. The game of Bocce is a game of beauty for all that it represents. It is contagious, amusing, competitive, bonding, and a magnet for securing friendships and gaining friends. We welcome your participation to be part of a great traditional game and support a growing Valley tradition.
Traditional rules apply but local communities modify the rules to meet their social requirements.
